Episode 19 - Whisper of the Heart (Part 1)

In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika discuss the 1995 Studio Ghibli film Whisper of the Heart. In the first part of their two-part review, the ladies cover an in-depth soft serve summary of the movie, all of the symbolism sprinkled on top, and all of the joy the film brought them in Floats Your Boat, and some wishy-washy feelings in Banana Split. Tangents include the unfortunate conditioning most young girls hear about bullies, girl code (including real-life examples that go a little off the rails), and the pressure young people face regarding choosing their lifelong career before they’re fully grown.

Grab your spoons, and let’s dig in!
