In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Giana and Chika review episodes one to three of My Happy Marriage. In episode one, the sundae girlies try to grasp onto whatever positivity they can find in this very bleak reality for Miyo. Chika speculates about Kaya’s legitimacy as Shinichi’s daughter. Giana points out the potential cycle of abuse in the My Happy Marriage universe. In episode two, Giana muses Kudo’s cold behavior up front towards Miyo and his previous fiancée . Chika points out the reasons why Miyo could be struggling to eat alongside Kudo. Miyo’s trauma dreams strike a personal chord with Giana. Chika covers Kouji’s father with a healthy heaping of hot fudge. In episode three, Kudo’s and Miyo’s first date gives Chika and Giana so many shoujo feels. In episode three, Kudo’s understanding that a few gifts or dates won’t heal Miyo earns him brownie points from Giana. Chika brings up confusion around Miyo’s treatment by the Saimori’s if she’s from such a prestigious and powerful bloodline.
