Episode 41: Is It Beastiality? (Fruits Basket Eps 1-3)

In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Chika and Giana dive into the Fruits Basket reboot! The girls lovingly poke fun at people who dislike Fruits Basket, claiming it to be quintessential shoujo content. In episode 1, the girls admire Tohru’s adamant optimism and inner strength. Chika shocks Giana with an unexpected Banana Split. Chika also points out the oddness of Shigure being alone in Tohru’s guest room with her. Katsuya Honda, Tohru’s father, is not safe from the heat of Chika’s hot fudge. In episode two, Tohru’s sweet moment with Yuki in the classroom melts the sundae girls’ hearts. Shigure being a homeowner at twenty-seven is not only aspirational but astonishing. In true anime fashion, THE WHOLE BUILDING returns! In episode three, Chika poses the important question: why don’t the zodiacs mate with their respective animals? Is it beastiality? Jokes aside, the girls get pretty vulnerable in Rocky Road.
