In this episode of Shoujo Sundae, Chika, Giana, and Ashley from the Shojo & Tell Podcast review episodes seven through nine of Fruits Basket (2019). In episode 7, the ladies dissect Hatori’s relationship with Kana. Is two months quick for an engagement? Wouldn’t you question somebody walking away from you when you tried to kiss them? Why is a seahorse considered a dragon? Ashley begs possibly the most important question: why are there so many mirrors in Akito’s room? In Hot Fudge, Ashley opens up about her medical history and how she views Hatori’s story differently because of it. In episode 8, Hanajima’s powers to manipulate both waves and emotions steal the show. Tohru’s insistence on spending the new year alone leaves everybody feeling banana split. Giana gets heated about Tohru’s family’s New Year’s vacation. In episode 9, Giana has the unfortunate task of teaching Chika and Ashley what cow tipping is. Chika’s banana split about Haru is hilariously unexpected. Ashley “screams” about the hype over Yuki’s legs.
